Since 2009, JBD has partnered with private clients, fellow designers, and four- and five-star hospitality including , The Four Seasons, Mark Hopkins InterContinental, Kimpton Hotel Group, Carneros Resort & Spa and Nobu and privately held properties — on design projects spanning San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Napa/Sonoma, Portland, Utah, Chicago, Hawaii, and the East Coast. JBD brings the warmth and comfort of home into hospitality settings, and elevates residential spaces with 5-star luxury sensibility. Bespoke furnishings, quality lighting, and a global network of sources and local artisans come together in each custom-tailored space. Every project brings its own challenges, and we approach them with a shared belief: design isn't just about function — it's about creating environments that foster happiness, ease frustration, and support genuine wellness.
About Jeremy Bitter
Jeremy was born into a multigenerational family of builders, and grew up around ground-up and renovation projects of every kind — from residential concrete and framing to steel high-rise. After a career in finance and tech HR, where he saw firsthand how poorly designed interiors affect people's wellbeing, he returned to his artistic roots to do something about it.
A graduate with distinction of UC Berkeley Extension's Interior Design & Interior Architecture program — a four-year post-baccalaureate, master's-equivalent, Jeremy completed alongside real-world design work. Credentials include CID (Certified Interior Designer), IDEX, and LEED AP, and he has held various Director and VP roles with NEWH, the hospitality industry's nonprofit network.
A proud native Californian, Jeremy spent several years living in Eastern Asia and later earned a BA in Mandarin Chinese. He finds inspiration everywhere — in travel, nature, different cultures, and the built environment. Outside of hospitality, design, and travel, he loves growing green things and exploring San Francisco's neighborhoods, woods, and beaches in search of sunshine. Jeremy continues to find joy in designing boutique hospitality spaces and private residences alike, working closely with clients to help them realize their own unique vision.
